THE BRAND
Mixed media artist, based out of Charlotte, North Carolina, Shawn Hillyard combines color and unexpected materials to create uniquely textured and energetic artwork. Each abstract creation is an acrylic-based treasure with a one-of-a-kind lively character.
Many of her color stories and themes are inspired by her once hometown of Sarasota, Florida. Shawn, always exploring her creativity, studied English Literature and creative writing at Ohio University. Now, she enjoys turning her imaginative visions into original designs.
THE DESIGNER
As a small girl expressing my creativity had always brought me great joy and peace. I loved poetry, music and drawing. However, it wasn’t until 2007 when I picked up a paint brush. I was desperately searching to fill a void in my heart. I chose the name, Restless Color Studio, because at the time I starting painting I was battling insomnia. During my most restlessness nights, I found my greatest healing through painting! Many times I find my inspiration and excitement when I see a beautiful color combination. I still find that same Joy in all forms of art, from writing, drawing, crafting, hosting, cooking, nature, & especially painting.
I feel eternally grateful for the encouragement and support I have received along the journey. I hope each piece brings joy, happiness, and healing, just as they have all done for me…
